A surprising number of Americans use these words interchangeably. This is incorrect and frquently offensive tothe British themselves. The British Isles comprise Great Britain, Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands. In spite of His perfection this gift even causes Our Heavenly Father to yield to our free will; less God renegs and aborts our power to choose. His Holy Word states God's desire that we all be saved and He is somewhat saddened that many are not. Therefore, neither on earth nor in heaven is there nor shall there ever be - absolute perfection; if we define perfection as being absolutely flawless. This is the price of freedom - eternal compromise - dilligently respecting the rights of others; even if we were void of evil, when we mingle with our vast differences of likes and dislikes in the bouquet of boulevards. I do not care for sports, most of my friends do, and so I find myself playing a game or two. Family dinners are compromised. The Chef tells his or her family to eat what is offered today. Your favorites may be included but before week's end your favorite meal is on the table. Your favorite color red may be inappropriate at times. You argue with siblings, friends or colleagues and they with you may all be right but a mediator suggests that you bend to their wishes today so they may yield to yours tomorrow. Do you think that it will be so different in heaven? Yes, evil is gone and with it goes spiritual consequences - death, disease and aging are extinct. Freedom flourishes more than we can comprehend but it has consequences as does the freedoms we enjoy in the vast diverse United States of America. God created us to live together with hopes that we learn to compromise and enjoy the company of others to its zenith. Today, there are six billion people who share this terra firma, but there will never be six billion ways to satisfy everyone all of the time. Yet, in spite of this, it could not be more wonderful! The most creative person on earth can not be creative enough. He or she must borrow from the talents of others eternally sharing and breaking bread with one another. The infinite wisdom of God knew that this works best for all. |
